(Pre-Order SS26) John Lofgren Duke Roper Boots - Horween CXL Natural Roughout
Lofgren's Duke Ropers are classic pull-on style boot, built with premium materials and JLB's perfectionist attention to detail. The name pays homage to the Duke of Wellington, who commissioned a shoemaker to refine the Hessian style boot into something more suitable for riding, and that would fit better with the style of the early 19th century. The resultant Wellington boots were shorter, lacking decoration, with less of a heel, and fit closer to the leg. Its thought that the Wellington is the precursor to the modern Roper boot.
The Duke Ropers are built with Horween's CXL Natural Roughout, a durable leather that patinas beautifully with good wear and picks up some truly stunning texture. The boots are finished with USA made Vibram soles and heels, and USA made storm welts.
