UES New Purcara Sweatshirt - Navy
UES' New Purcara Sweatshirt, a revamp of a garment they made until 2023, is cut from an uncommon cotton blend that gives it a dry, almost wool-like hand, and is woven on antique machines in Wakayama. The face yarn mixes Desi cotton with organic cotton from Uganda in a 7:3 ratio. Desi cotton brings texture and bulk, while the Ugandan organic cotton adds balance and structure. Because the cotton is hand-harvested, no two yarns are exactly the same, and that natural variation is part of what gives this fabric its depth and character.
On the inside, the backing yarn is made from brown cotton sourced from Zimbabwe. Compared to the earlier Purcara Sweat, this fabric uses a higher-grade Ugandan organic cotton. The feel is slightly softer, but the finish stays true to the original.
